last week.

last monday, husband and i took a day trip to seattle. we've visted before in 2006, 2006?! holy crap. does that seem like a long time ago to you too? ok well anyway, my grandparents lived here on bainbridge island, so seattle wasn't all that unfamiliar to us. we ended up having an amazing day visiting the aquarium, pike place market, having a yummy first starbucks frappuccino, and of course misplacing the car inside of a giant building. :0)

i can see you fishy!

husband bought me some flowers. only because he's awesome, and he thinks i'm awesome too of course.

remember my fancy 'to do list'? well sadly we didn't manage to get it all finished this past week. the good news is that we did manage to get most of it done {with a few substitutions}. even better is that we have more lovely visitors coming into town this weekend, so i've made some plans to finish up a few things we didn't quite get around too.

grandma & grandpa.

we're busy spending all of our time with these two lovely people, and

we can't wait for some more awesome grandma and grandpa time tomorrow!!

millersylvania state park.

 on sunday we went hiking at millersylvania state park in olympia. it was a little 'buggy' in there, and they were especially attracted to fisherella {for those of you who don't know, husband has a tattoo on his forearm of a reverse mermaid which i gave a disney princess name - fisherella}. lately husband keeps trying to teach me how to properly read a map because i have zero sense of direction, and i really suck at being a co-driver holding my iphone map going, 'go left, no right, wait, you're going the right way already!' it makes for a very frustrating car ride. you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to pick up, but i promise, i'm just really really bad at it. so he took this opportunity to try again to teach me some basics of map reading... i mean, we didn't get lost in the forest for hours or anything so i think i passed. right?

tuesday bake day.

mini cupcakes everywhere! i love cupcakes, husband loves cupcakes, but we needed a really good excuse to make said cupcakes. and what better excuse is there than having our grandparents come into town this week? none i say. none. 

that's the face of a man who knows he's been caught stealing a cupcake.
