hello friday.

it's friday, it's date night, and i really hope that it goes something like this.

8 days.

  i've got a serious case of the wednesdays happening right now. there's loads {literally loads} of laundry being washed and folded in the cavanaugh household today. i'm serious, look at those piles, and i still have three loads to go!

 

besides being all consumed with 'housewifing,' i'm a little stressed out about husband leaving for a whole month next thursday. ugh. we're finally getting nice and settled into our little newlywed life together, and bam! army {yes, i refer to the army as if it is a person} has gone and given me another migraine. sure, husband and i have been apart for longer periods of time than that, but it's a little different this time. why you ask? well, we won't have any communication at all. none. zero. zip. nada. ziltch. so, seriously, who's going to laugh at my awesome jokes, and tell me when i really need to wash my hair?? luckily for me i get to go home for a few days to visit the family, so i don't get all super duper sad and lonely here by myself. i guess they'll laugh at my jokes, and tell me to wash my hair. it's not the same as husband, but it will have to do until he comes home.

the weekend.

we've made it! two weeks of visitors and it's finally time for some relaxation at home. we came home pretty late on sunday from visiting with husband's family in seattle, and i couldn't have been happier laying around in my pj's doing nothing yesterday. i didn't even manage to unpack our bags. i did successfully manage to eat breakfast, eat lunch, then have a snack, watch some tv, edit photos, eat dinner with hubby, and watch the bachelorette until bed time. i thought it best that i get up and accomplish something today, so here it is, our weekend in pictures.

you could smell the yummy goodness of these bakeries from a mile away, and they were so packed full of people, i could barely hold the camera up to get a shot!

there's almost nothing better than when your grandparents come for a visit. not only are they up for anything {even with a bum knee, or two}, they always want to take you out for ice cream, and they love antiquing as much as you do. we visited lots of small towns, stopped in at two bakeries, one ice cream shop, and at least five antique stores during our day around town. husband and i picked up a few new things along the way, and those lovely grandparents of ours surprised us with some of our favorite gadgets as well!
